In just a week, it will be time for the gathering of faith organizations who are coming together to share information and to make this information available to the public. Unity Spiritual Center is hosting the celebration of diversity on Saturday, February 3rd. The original event four years ago was the genesis of the Interfaith Harmony Council.
While I know that the St. Andrews Mardi Gras celebration is also Saturday, February 3rd, I am hoping that some of you will choose to spend all or part of your day at Unity. UUFBC is one of the faith organizations represented four years ago and a founding member of the IHC. We want to ensure that Unitarian Universalism is well-represented this time and that information about our faith is available. There are currently nine participating organizations scheduled to have tables at this event. Our Religious Education Director, Gienah Harris, will be making a presentation about Unitarian Universalism during the morning hours. Others, such as the Imam, will also be presenting.
If you can spare a couple hours, here is what we need:
- Some folks to bring the UU banner and set up the table area. Set-up is from 9 to 10 am. Doors open to the Public at 10 am.
- Two volunteers to represent UU at our table from 10 am until noon.
- Two volunteers to represent UU at our table from noon until 2 pm.
- Two volunteers to represent UU at our table from 2 pm until doors close at 4 pm.
