This Saturday, the 9th of September, there will be “A Day of Dignity,” an event reaching out with services for the homeless and families in need. Sponsored locally by the Islamic Society and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and a broad coalition of sponsors. There will be bikes, trolley passes, health screening, diapers, baby formula, haircuts, shoes, socks for all ages, lunch and more. Do you know anyone in need?
The UUFBC is a co-sponsor and will be present with a table at the Day of Dignity. Our Fellowship has enthusiastically supported the event and will be present with insect repellent, and other items for the participants. We will also be helping by arranging for and driving a fifteen passenger van for transporting participants to and from the event.
If you would like to bring items for distribution: Insect repellent, personal care items, new socks etc, please leave them off at the church before Saturday.
A special appreciation goes to organizer, Habib Rahim.
